Medical Entrance Exams


In compliance with the directives of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the Central Board of Secondary Education, would be conducting the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test, for the academic session 2016-17. This entrance test is being conducted for the 15% merit positions in the Medical/Dental Colleges of India as specified in the directive of the Supreme Court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India from time to time.

There are also State Governments/Universities/Institutions voluntarily participating in the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Test - 2016 for using its merit list for admission in the Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges against seats under their control.

The responsibility of the CBSE is limited to the conduct of the entrance test, declaration of result and providing merit list to the DGHS and participating States/Universities/Institutions.

The counselling for successful candidates under 15% All India Quota seats is conducted by the DGHS and the Counselling for admission in seats under the control of other participating States/Universities/Institutions shall be conducted by their respective Authorities.

Age Limit Applicant’s age should be between 17 to 25 years as on 2016 and relaxation will be given as per the government norms.

Steps to fill AIPMT 2016 Online Application Form

Part 1: Fill up the online application form and note down the registration number. At the end of this page, two links are given namely ‘reset’ and ‘next’. Click on the ‘next’ button if you feel that the information provided by you is correct otherwise click ‘reset’. Once you click on ‘next’, information submitted by you will appear on the screen.

Read the information carefully. If you are sure that the information submitted by you is correct, then click on ‘submit’ otherwise click on ‘next’.

After this step, you will automatically be directed to part 2 for uploading photograph and signature.

Part 2: Upload the scanned images of the passport size photograph and the signature. Thereafter, you will be taken to part 3 for payment of fees.

Keep your debit card/ credit card ready for remittance of fees if you wish to pay online.

Part 3: Payment of application fee should be done through Debit Card/Credit Card or challan should be downloaded and printed. The fee should be remitted in the designated accounts of Canara bank or Syndicate Bank or e-post office.

Note that if the fee is deposited through challan then fill in the relevant columns in the online application form in Part 3.

Part 4: You will be asked to update-challan transaction details if the fees are paid through challan.

Part 5: The last step is to take the print out of the confirmation page to be sent to CBSE along with the copy of proof of fee deposited, if the fee is paid through Challan.

Note that at least 4 copies of confirmation page and one copy of address slip maybe taken out. 3 copies of confirmation page are to be retained by the candidate.

Particulars to be filled in the Online AIPMT 2016 Application Form
His/her name, mother’s name and father’s name as given in High School Certificate of Board/University by selecting the following in the online application form:

1.Nationality: Indian/OCI
2.Affidavit: (for candidates from Andhra Pradesh and J & K who have opted for seats under 15% All India Quota)
3.Gender: Male/Female
4.Category: SC/ST/OBC/OR
5.Father’s/Guardian’s/Mother’s Occupation
6.Father’s/Guardian’s/Mother’s Educational Qualifications
7.Father’s/Guardian’s/Mother’s Total Annual Income
8.Question paper language: Hindi/English
9.Are you the only child of your parents (if you are the only child and there are no other siblings then write 1 in this column otherwise write 2)

11.Percentage of marks/grade in class X and XII

13.Place of residence: Rural/Urban
14.State to which the applicant belongs: Candidate should fill in the state of origin. For example, if a candidate belongs to Andhra Pradesh but has a domicile of Gujarat, then the candidate should fill Andhra Pradesh as the state to which he/she belongs.

Before mailing the confirmation page, make sure that the following things have been carried out:

1.You must sign the form at specified place and affix a left hand thumb impression
2.The application must bear the signature of parent/guardian.
3.The application should have been authenticated and signed by the Head of the institution/Gazetted Officer.
4.A good quality coloured studio photograph should be duly pasted in the space earmarked for it. Mention your name and application number on the back of the photograph.
5.The Confirmation Page of online application form should be sent by registered/speed post only. Applications sent by courier will not be accepted.

Photograph Specifications

1.Candidates are advised to take passport size photographs with white background and one post card size photograph (4” x 6”)
2.Upload scanned image of passport size photograph in JPG format in the online application. The size of the image should be between 10kb and 100kb.
3.Passport size photographs should be attached on the Confirmation Page of the online application form and also for counselling/admission. Before affixing the photo on the confirmation page, you must write your name, application form number and contact number on the back of the photograph with ball point pen only.
4.Post card size photograph will be collected by Center Superintendent at the AIPMT examination center.
5.Photograph must be taken on or after 2016*, indicating only the name of the photograph and date of taking the photograph as shown here.
6.Photograph should not have cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed if they are being used regularly.
7.Polaroid or computer generated photos are not acceptable.
8.The photograph should be attested by Head/Principal of the institution or by Gazetted Officer in such a way that half of the signature should appear on the photo and other half on the application form. Attestation should be done at the bottom of the photo.
9.Photo should be attested by gum or fevicol and should not be pinned or stapled.

Signature Specifications

1.Candidates are required to put their signature in the given box in the Confirmation Page in running hand writing and also affix clear left hand thumb impression.
2.Upload scanned image of signature in JPG format while filling online application. The size of the image should be between 3 kb to 20kb.
3.Writing full name in the box in capital letters would not be accepted as signature and applications are liable to get rejected.
4.Also, unsigned application or applications with unclear thumb impression can also be rejected.

Submission of AIPMT 2016 Application Form

Computer Generated Confirmation Page along with proof of remittance of fees and affidavit (for candidates from Andhra Pradesh and J & K who have opted for seats under 15% All India Quota) should be sent through Registered/Speed Post only to:
